My uncle-in-law just got me 5 packets of marron glaces, and I was wondering on what I should make, when I found this recipe for a marron layer cake online. It sounded delicious, and I really want to try it, but it says that I need 3/4 cup of sweetened chestnut puree. I don't think they're available here in Japan (perhaps in some specialized stores...), and I was wondering if I could just blend (basically, puree) my marron glaces.
Are puree-ed marron glaces the same as sweetened chestnut puree?
