The US Census defines 'White' (Caucasian) as "a person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa." Are people from the Middle East and North Africa really white / caucasian? I always thought white / caucasian people came from or descended from European countries - though I'm not sure if Spanish, Italian, Portugese are included. What is correct?
