Okay, I admit I jumped on the square-toe shoe bandwagon late and just threw out a couple pair. A fashion retailer in SF told me they were OUT! She also said striped shirts are out unless it's very subtle and pinstripe suits are out unless it's very subtle. Do you agree with this? I also think the faux hawk should be banned. Even Beckham doesn't wear one anymore.
So now, it seems military style jackets are the rage with epaulettes and four pockets in front. I bought a military style jacket last year, and I'm thinking of buying another one, but am I on the tail end of that fashion trend? Will I look like a dork like I did wearing box-toe shoes?
Also, what about those hipster waist-length, zippered leather jackets with two square breast pockets usually worn with a hoodie. Is that dead too? I was thinking of buying one of those too.
I'm not ready to wear my 10 year-old's sister's jeans though like a lot of young kids are doing these days. Or even super tight, low waist jeans. Or a bow tie. I want to look somewhat trendy not like a freak. I've ditched all my baggie clothes. I think you can only do baggie if you're into hiphop or some skater dude. Do you agree with that?
Finally, what else is fashionable for guys these days that I'm missing? Is wearing an Arab keffiyeh scarf stil lin? I've also started to see jeans with a lot of intricate designs on the rear pockets, not just designer labels. Is that in now?
Also with the economy in a recession, I'm assuming all designer labels are OUT. Like if you wear an Abercrombie or Prada now, people think you're just an a-hole.
