I heard my aunties talking about how they use to read these behind their parents back, how they were so racy...

I can't seem to find them anywhere but I was wondering what my naughty aunties consider as "racy".

The key is they thought they were "racy", pretty much most things considered "racy" aren't these days. Spillane wrote of murder, adultry, and blonde dames that ulterior motives and would sleep with a private dick to save their sordid secrets.

They aren't talking pornographic, more the equivalent of an R rated movie.
