I have been thinking about it and when we provide medicine for people with genetic diseases such as coronary artery disease or diabetes ect. we are going against the laws of natural selection. right?
Natural selection favors individuals possessing traits best suited to their environment so the ones who cant compete die and their traits wont be passed on....
The human population is huge and darwin claims that "the struggle for existence" will favor some traits over others which changes the frequency of traits within a population (usually for the better).
When doctors provide medication for people with deadly diseases, clearly not "favored" by natural selection if deadly, we are inviting in unwanted traits =/
Aren't we just letting these people live past their estimated life expectancy, which increases their chances of reproducing, which passes their incompetent genes to their offspring as well to our gene pool?
by using medication to help people with deadly diseases restricting our ability to evolve properly?
are such great advancements and discoveries really the greatest destruction?
also please consider the fact that i know medicine is used for good.
I think its great that our intelligence allows us to discover such advancements, but such intelligence comes with intense emotions which causes us want to provide medication for our loved ones who have such diseases.
please think of this question as objectively
