The saying, "money is power" is a very true statement, because in many socieities, those who have a lot of money, also tend to have a lot a power. In fact, in America, CEO's currently have just as much, if not more power than the president.
The GOP is a a testament to the power of money & it's ability to mislead, manipulate, & eventually destroy people. A media executive for a number of Conservatives outlets, most notably FAUX NOISE, can write flagrant lies about the Obama admniistration (death panels, birth certificate, etc) and run that story constantly till many die hard Conservatives believe it to be fact and act accordingly---Tea Parties, Birther Movement, etc.
A CEO of a military company, like Lockheed Martin, can litterally sell weapons to any number of regimes around the world--Hamas, Al Qaeda, etc, and then bribe politicians (usually Conservative war lovers) into downplaying their role in foreign disputes.
A CEO of a healthcare company, can merge with his competitors to become a dominant & sole healthcare provider, like Blue Cross Blue Shield, and then jack up their prices and extort money , or deny service to vast shares of the American population. Then the same company can bribe lobbyists into hiring people to show up at Conventions to protest healthcare reform, and run anti-reform ads
