Are mail carriers allowed to discuss other neighbors' mail?

I have a mail carrier that tells me about other people's mail, and tells them about my mail, etc. We're all pretty fed up. Is this legal?
Actually, it's more detailed than that. Our mail carrier and I are in dispute over a small piece of land. She had a survey done, which didn't give her the results she hoped for. So, in retaliation, she is digging up information on all people who didn't side with her (starting with myself, of course), and then is going from neighbor to neighbor reporting her findings on us, telling people about their mail, etc. She does this while in uniform!

No, it is not. It is a violation of your first amendment rights of privacy, among other things. However, the mail carrier is sovereignly immune from suit. Start out by filing a report with your postmaster - just go to the post office and file the complaint there. Your neigbors should all do the same. You have to follow the postal service's grievance process.

If the mail carrier is doing this and the post office finds out, he could lose his job. There is an expectation of confidentiality that the mail carrier is violating. I don't think it is against the law but I am sure it is against postal regulations.

What? Jeez, who cares what comes in the mail, unless you've got something to hide. But if it seriously bothers you, you could probably file a grievance with the post office. Don't think it's a law.
