Are liberals calling Rhode Island racist for hanging on to their past of slavery?

If Alabama voted to keep the name of their state Alabama and the Plantations. Liberals would go nuts. I just want to see if their is a double standard.
Plantations dont predate slavery and Rhode Islane but it on the ballot to change their name because if refers to their past of owning and trading slaves for their plantations.
