Are leggings an appropriate trend?

I just wondered what opinions were on the legging trend. What do you think?

I was thinking about pairing a simple long-sleeve black shirt with some black leggings. This would be a simple, easy, quick outfit for me to wear and wouldn't require a lot of effort. I was just wondering if these would go well together.

leggings are fine as long as they aren't like insane cheetah print or worn with shorts.

Leggings are never acceptable unless you've just blasted your quads and hamstrings. Don't forget to keep the protein up.
