I'm beginning to plan a trip to DC for late summer/early fall. I've been looking at different websites trying to do this on a budget. One website had hostels for between $25-$45/night-much better than $120+ for a hotel. I'm going to be traveling by myself so I'm a little nervous about staying in a hostel but the savings would be phenomenal. Are they safe for single female travelers? I don't want my stuff getting stolen or worse. Also, any other trip planning tips would be much appreciated!
