Are guppys cleaner than, say, goldfish? Small vs Large fish?

I've just bought a wall mounted tank with 14 guppys, I was thinking about adding some larger fish such as goldfish, but they seem to defecate a lot more, do you need to clean your tank out more often if you have larger fish?

Also, I have a filter on my tank but not an air bubbly thing (i believe thats the technical term), do I need one?

And should I add plants? Does this keep the water cleaner?

Looking to keep as low maintenance as possible, cheers :)

Guppies are much less messy than goldfish. Goldfish make a mess and might possibly eat a few of your guppy. Bubbles in your tank will keep the water full of oxygen wich will keep your fish healthy. Plants may be a bad idea if you want low maintenance. Goldfish may uproot live plants. Good Luck :)

If you are mixing goldfish with guppies, that's a no no. Guppies are warm tropical watered fish and goldfish are temperate watered fish. They cannot be mixed. It will cause long term problems for the goldfish such as disease threats, digestive tract problems, and shortened lifespan.

Also, I really don't condone the use of wall mounted tanks. The depth is a bit too small and the fish don't have enough 'leg' room.
