Are GM motors cars good or bad? I'm buying a used Saturn and am told that

another car would be better.? I'm buying a 1996 Saturn with 130,000 miles on it for $2600. How long do you think this car will last me, is it a rip off? Descent? Should I look elsewhere? I like the car but don't know anything about cars, I'm told foreign cars are better. What does that mean? That American cars suck or are mediocre when compared to foreign cars? I'm a college student so I'm not expecting too much, just a car that gets me from point A to point B. I appreciate any feedback from anyone, just please state a reason for your opinion. Thank you!
 
Some years of Saturn did have inherent problems. Do some research and read owner reviews on the cars to see what they say. Those who say foreign cars are better are living in the 80's. Modern American cars are made just as well as any other country's vehicles. Those here who complain about their American cars probably bought them used and abused or have not taken proper care of them.
