Are generics less effective?

So lately I have been feeling miserable and am taking every medication known to man.

I have switched to generic allergy meRAB for obvious reasons, but does anyone feel that the non-generics work any better? My wal-zyr has pretty much lost effectiveness. I wonder if the regular zyrtec would be better.
 
thanks, jane. that's the answer i was looking for. i just didn't ask my question correctly. anyway, im going to give regular zyrtec-d a shot and hope for the best.
 
I get my zyrtec from Canada - have for years....much cheaper from there even with shipping. Have never noticed any difference.
 
actually the pharmacist said the generic zyrtec is the exact same as the original. hmmmmm. she told me to try claritin, but that's never worked for me. maybe i will need to get back on allegra-d.
 
I had a bad reaction to Claritin and it is now on my allergic list. I never took Zyrtec, but currently I am taking Allegra, every morning. I love it!
 
I used to work for big pharma and in the US they all have to meet the same standarRAB. I used to live in Canada so they can be stronger and tested less stringenetly than here. That said the name branRAB are made by the same cos there as here. Generics here are based on the orignal patents. If it works it works irregarless of the name. I would worry about anything that came form china.
 
In the United States, generics are allowed to vary as much as 30% from the original name brand.
 
Could be because it's generic, could be that you've developed a tolerance to that antihistamine.
