Are FTP servers compatible with PHP and Perl?

Please excuse my ignorance, but are all FTP servers compatible with PHP and Perl? When looking at servers to host a site, how do I know they have PHP and Perl?
So php and perl can both be on a server at the same time? That's what I want to know.
if both can be installed on an ftp server at the same time?
 
I guess you mean hosting provider, not FTP server.

FTP is file transfer protocol, it has nothing to do with PHP or Perl or any programming language or anything that may or may not be installed on a server...
