...due to owner abuse/neglect? I work in a tire shop. Allmost every day we have sombody want come in and want us to put severly oversized tires on there f-150. I try to talk them out of it explaining the truck was not built for a tire that large, that even though it fits the change in size puts alot of stress on the drive train, suspension ect.... I have even gon to the leangths of calling ford so that ford can explain it to them. The customer insists to the point we do the wok only after having them sighn a number of disclaimers eplaining the risk. Tonight after telling my wife about a guy that had us put on oversized tires even after Ford told him that size would oid all the warenties on a truck less than a year old, she asked me if this sort of change from original factory equipment could have added to the bad reputation ford tuck have?
Are ford trucks really as bad as there reputation. Or is the mechanical issues...
