Are Ford Focus' SAFE?

I have been looking for crash test ratings on the Ford Focus sedan online and they all seem to be varied (newer models). My husband and I are looking to buy a family car soon and I am very interested in the Focus.. but its all depending on the crash test! Does anyone own a Focus? Ever been in a wreck in a Focus?
 
The North American Focus is essentially the Ford Focus Mk1.

The most rigorous testing facilities in the world are NCAP and ANCAP (the European and Australian New Car Assessment Programs) their results are here:

In both cases the Focus is rated at 4 stars, which is pretty good.

Both NCAP and ANCAP do side intrusion and tests on both legs, and also looking for offset tests as well.
