Hey everyone! I'm thinking of buying a 97 ford contour and just wanted everyone's opinion about the car! It's got 130,000 miles on it and the guy wants to sell it for $1500. Are these good cars with a good reputation for quality and reliability? Is 1500 a good price for it? Isn't it really a mazda with ford badging on it? The owners son says that he drives it everyday ( he does) but how can i make sure that this is a good deal i'm getting? Any suggestions are welcome.

sorry to say bad deal fords are bad at that milage, wonder its still running, buicks are the best esp 3.8

In my opinion,, anything with the ford name is crap...

Ok - so its a collaboration.. I still don't care..

You would be much better off getting a Toyota.. Or maybe a Honda..

The mileage on the car,, why would you settle.. The price they want is to much !! That car isn't worth it !!

Ok in fair condition - check it out - http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/PricingReport.aspx?YearId=1997&Mileage=130000&VehicleClass=UsedCar&ManufacturerId=15&ModelId=428&PriceType=Private+Party&VehicleId=7605&SelectionHistory=7605%7c29054%7c34983%7c0%7c0%7c&Condition=Fair&QuizConditions=

I would offer them $600.00 TOPS !! But try for $500.00

good luck dude

Yes, you should buy one! I personally like the 2000 Ford Contours better. You should get one of those! Yes, they are reliable.
