Have a mid 80's 302 ford engine (carburated), mated to a late 70's AOD that I want to swap with a C4 or maybe a small block bellhousing'd C6 transmission. Are the driveshaft output splines the same on all three of these transmissions or are they all different? Also, would the flexplate (flywheel) need to be changed out as well? What are the lengths of these transmissions, or a place I could find out, because the driveshaft would have to be changed if they are not the same length, right? Basically, if I took an AOD out of a vehical, and reinstalled a C4, What all would have to be changed to make it work?
Are Ford C4, AOD, and small block C6 transmissions interchangeable?
