Are Emmett's eggs and the ones on the kitchen table at Charlie's house an inside joke?

Emmett walked into the cafeteria with a bag of eggs in his hands. There are also eggs on the kitchen table when Bella comes home and Charlie is sitting there. When Edward and Charlie are sitting at the table waiting on Bella to come down for prom, there are two eggs sitting on the table.
 
Yeah cuz in breaking dawn on edward and bella's honeymoon bella goes through like 20 boxes of eggs cuz she's pregnant so i guess Stephanie meyer loves eggs or something
