is comapring a ducati to a harley davision like comparing a ferrari to something like a mustang? i know a mustang is a cool car but compared to a ferrari the ferrari is so much nicer and almost anybody would rather get a ferrari if they had a chioce. or is it the other way around when a harley davision is the ferrari of motorcycles and the ducatis are the mustang?

Ducatis are performance bikes. Harleys are status/cruiser bikes.
Neither are really the Ferrari of either genre. There are pricier/more exclusive models serving both needs.
I would never buy a Harley because I disagree with the whole "pay more for less because it's cool" and you can buy a custom factory bike from less known manufacturers in the USA that is twice the bike for less. Plus, when I roll up in my custom Bobber I payed 15k for it's me turning heads, not Harleys. I WOULD buy a Ducati because it fills its role well in terms of performance and price.
And how gaudy is all that Harley gear? Ugh, it's like the sure fire sign you are past your prime and have nothing better to spend your money on. Lol, sorry for trolling Harleys. It's just not that cool if everybody has one and thinks they are special.

Ducati's are built for pure speed and high maintenance costs. Harley's are built to haul your old fat ass around. Ducati's are more like Ferrari's but they are about the same price as a Harley if not even cheaper. Its like comparing an F1 car to a classic muscle car. The muscle car looks cool but the performance of the F1 is leagues away.
