Are dirt bikes standard transmission?

I would like to go dirt biking soon and I was wondering if they use a standard 4 speed motorcycle transmission with the handlebar clutch and foot shifter? I've never been good with motorcycle transmissions so I was also wondering if there are dirt bikes without this type.

All dirt bikes have a 5 speed transmission with the clutch on the handle bars and a shifter at your foot.
