I'm looking into buying a 1981 Centurion Elite bike, I've fallen in love with it. The price that is being asked ($350) is a bit high but I'd love to own the bike. I understand parts are hard to find since it is an older bike, my primary need for this is to and from school (about 1 mile) a day. Thankfully, there is a yellow bike shop with a lot of old parts right down the street, but my question is mostly for previous owners. I've seen a bunch of mixed reviews with very little information online, some see the bikes break frequently and some say they are tough as nails. Please help!
