Are car tires the same as bikes?

I just got my first car, and was wondering if the tires are just like on bikes. Would i just take the wheel off, pry the tire off the rim, and change the tube if i got a flat?
how modern are you talking. i dont think my 02 grand cherokee has that
that was toward random, and also. are at least older car types like that?
 
Modern car tyres are tubeless anyway and are a very tight fit (you can get these for bikes as well now). I changed one myself years ago and it was a struggle even with two people on crowbars.
