Are BMX bicycles allowed on the side walk?

I ride my bike pretty much every single day. There should be a bike lane between the street and the sidewalk for you, but if you don't have one, just ride on the sidewalk. It's completely fine if there is no one near you walking. Never ride in the street, that's just dumb. Cars will see you, maybe not the bike, but definately you.

It depends on the city and state whether bicycles are legal on sidewalks. Colorado yes, Phoenix no.

But even when legal, must be ridden in a safe and courteous manner, always yielding to everyone.

I know its illegal to ride on the side walk but to me it seems dangerous to ride a bmx on the street because it doesnt go as fast and its not as visible as a mountain or road bike.
