are black convict fish allowed to be in fish tank with other fish?

ok so heres the story i currently just purchased a fish tank and have an oscar fish a black convict a red pacu small green terror and a cat fish now idk whats going on but ever since arriving in the tank the black convict has been taking bites at the other fish and has bit a fin off of the oscar i need as much help as possible with this ive never had a fish tank before.
 
There are two things you can do here. One option being you can remove the black convict or you can add more fish to the tank. A tank that is populated and busy is a happy tank. Also remember that fish are best happy in a male and female pair. Is there hiding spots in your tank that the other fish can hide and escape from this fish? I've got many types of fish that most people won't say belong together but have never had a problem because i keep a well stocked tank. Good luck and even have a nice great day.
