are the seat and fork holes the same size in all bike frames?

can i buy a frame and put the parts from another bike on to that frame regaurdless of who made the frame?... say the old bike is made by next and the new frame is a huffy as an example

i want to get a motor for my bike. but the frame wont let me do so. i would rather buy a frame or old bike and swap the parts off my current bike, than buy a new bike, if possible.

There are made with different materials or combination of different materials, so its not cost effective to make them for complete interchangeability

However, you may source from many suppliers many interchangeable parts to fix/assemble your customized bike

the seat and fork holes are not universal, sorry.
BUT, they do have common ground. for example, a lower end bike has a fairly universal hole, but, extreme downhill bikes, they have a much larger hole. most frames do work together though, unless its a beginner to professional bike change, everything should work fine.

There are some common sizes, but they are by no means universal, especially if you are swapping parts from different decades.

As for your motor issue, check with the local police department before you waste a lot of time and effort. It may not be legal to operate your frankenbike once you finish it.
