I put my betta fish together to BREED them this morning. My male had a huge bubble nest and my female was really fat. So i put them together to do there magic and all that happened was aggression and nipping from my male. Was that suppose to happen? Is that normal?
If i wasn't watching them how can i tell you information of how it went? just please explain to me it NORMAL?

Umm im pretty sure that is normal when i bought my betta i wanted a female and male but they told me that you couldnt leave them together long that they will kill each other. But just to be sure i would talk to somebody at a pet store or something

Yes..this is why you don't put them together and then leave for the day. you can come home to a dead fish.
Bettas are aggressive when spawning and not all get it right the first time. Or even the second. You must monitor them so if it gets really rough, you can quickly remove the female and wait a bit before putting her back in. And then there are times the fish are just not compatible.
Read this site..although i think I've given this to you before. its by a breeder.
