Sounds silly. but Its a true question.
I jsut bought my betta, and the store clerk said that when I am heading out the door, those scanners that you always walk through that tell if you steal something... she said that those kill fish.. and when I walk through it to hold the betta high above them. Im wondering.. if its a sort of field.. magnetic or other wise.. if the same applies to a wifi connection. or any other connection.. like a phone. .or a tv.

I have a laptop that pulls quite alot of connection... and Im wondering if it will effect my betta.
Alright. Twas my first fish ever. and I dont care if I looked silly. Im layed back like that. its just it was the only one with those colors. thank you for answering.

its crazy i buy fish at some of the big box stores all the time and i walk throug the scaners and it does not kill them or harm them. and the fish that are sent in the air mail as fright it goes throug the xray scaners at the air port and they dont die. its a mith.

I think someone was having some fun at your expense. Either that or she's kind of dumb. Those scanners are just mild magnetic fields that react to hidden magnetic tags. If they were strong enough to kill your fish they would cause harm to people, especially with how often we have to walk through them.
