I'm in a little dilemma. I purchased a '99 transaxle for my '93 ford escort assuming they would match up fine. I bought a clutch kit for a '93 escort to put in also. It turns out that the input shaft on the '99 is bigger than the '93 so I could not use my '93 clutch with my '99 transmission.
This is what I was wondering if I could do. Since the clutch on a '99 is 8 7/8 in diameter and the clutch on a '93 is 7 7/8 in diameter I'm assuming I can't use my '93 flywheel with a '99 clutch. Can I use a '99 flywheel on my '93 escort along with a new '99 clutch kit and my '99 transmission? If it helps any, the motor in the '93 is a 1.9L SOHC and the motor that comes stock in '99 is a 2.0L SOHC.
Thanks in advance!
