i got this filter from my dad along with the tank and im completly lost at how it works i have the tank and everything set up and its cloudy it had a bag and he said i fill it with activated carbon. does that mean i can use the loose filter media (its the petco pre mixed activated carbon and zeolite crystals) in it on top of the sponge or do i put just carbon in the little bag and put it on top? im really lost my dad didnt explain it to well. and my step dad thinks its just dead. any help please im not new to aquariums but i am to this kind of filter i like power heads or most typical hang off filters with the like slide in filters that suck the water up and through it.
