approaching college girls in dorms (college female answers prefered)?

im a first year, and there is this girl in my dorm that i have a pretty huge crush on. i wouldnt say we're good friends, but we're not just acquaintances either. shes really outgoing, cute as hell, and an all around great person that i feel a pretty strong connection with. the only problem is that i have no idea how to approach her. she lives one floor above me so i dont get to see her that often. baisically my question is how do i approach her without seeming creepy? should i like just tell her how i feel or what?
