I'm currently in DEP and will ship out in a few months as a 35M, Human Intelligence Collector, with the US Army. I have a degree and my recruiter told me to enlist and then apply as an Officer, instead of applying in the first place since he said it'd be easier. Since a DEP loss looks bad, I am going to apply to OCS after my AIT and when I get to my first duty station.
Will the commander reject me from turning in an OCS packet because I am new or since I just arrived to my duty station? I know I should've done it in the first place, but I was misinformed about it and didn't want to be a DEP loss. What do you think?? I have a high ASVAB score (95 percentile), can speak Korean, and a degree in Math.
