My husband attended college before I met him. He did so with loans from a bank (I believe it was Apple Bank in NY). We got married last March. I am seven years younger than him and I was hoping to get a degree, myself, now. The problem is he still owes money (around $20,000) for the student loan he received to attend college, years ago. Will this effect my FAFSA application? Can I still receive financial aid even though my husband owes money from his student loans? I, personally have never applied for or received financial aid or loans of any kind. I really want a chance to get a degree of my own and am hoping my husband's past mistakes will not prevent me from doing so. This is very important to me. Please let me know! Thanks so much!!!
