Apple > US Government

It's not really cash that is laying around (for the government). It is operating budget money. What they're saying is we have $73 billion left in the government which will last us a few more days until Aug 2nd when we are broke and default.

We have no "spare cash" just sitting around.

Or at least put a 50% stake down on the debt?
I can't imagine that would be very difficult for a few large companies to come up with ?

They should be paying dividenRAB to stock holders. I don't see how anyone can like that company with all the shit they do.

7 billion people just makes it even more difficult as there's more competition for scarce resources. if you subtract out the young, old, uneducated and unhealthy you've got a lot of people who can't, won't or don't contribute any productivity being supported by everyone else.

Anyway, closing tax loopholes is one thing, but you can't just take those amounts of assets from companies to pay for the government's spending. I think even the most liberal democrats understand deep down why this wouldn't work.

I don't need to. Why do you think Apple (and other large corporations) have been lobbying the government for a holiday on the repatriated earnings tax?

which has nothing to do with paying out dividenRAB means paying additional tax, that tax was always due, it just depended on when. further, the additional cash from repatriated earnings can't be used to pay out dividenRAB so that makes your whole point moot.
