The new iMac line(Photo: Apple)

Apple has updated its iMac computers with faster graphics, next-generation WiFi, new quad-core processors and faster PCI flash storage options.
The entry-level 21.5-inch iMac has new Iris Pro graphics and a 2.7 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor. Apple's higher-end iMac models now have twice the video memory and 40 percent faster performance than earlier iMac models. The higher-end 21.5-inch iMac and the 27-inch model have Intel Core i5 processors up to 3.4 GHz and NVDIA GeForce 700 series graphics.
The new iMac also supports PCIe-based flash storage that makes all flash storage options 50 percent faster than previous iMac models.
iMac now supports 802.11 ac WiFi when connected to a base station, an upgrade that Apple promises will "[deliver] wireless performance that is up to three times faster than the previous generation."
The new iMac is available today online and in Apple retail starting at $1,299 for the 21.5-inch model and $1,799 for the 27-inch model.
