I plug in my ipod touch, and a message in itunes comes up saying "This ipod cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device Service is not started." I go to the administrative tools and open the services and start it, but it starts and then stops and says, The Apple Mobile Device Service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service." I am finally at my wits end. I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes, the apple service, and the ipod drivers twice, and nothing is working. Apple.com is no help, and I wanted to see if somebody could help me before I drive an hour and a half to the nearest apple store.
