Apple Ipod Touch 4G 8GB? Is it worth it?

I'm a casual music listener who only has about 500-600 songs (about 3.5GB), and I listen to them while commuting. I just upgraded from a 4GB sony walkman to an 8GB ipod touch 4G. This is my first ipod ever. However I noticed that by paying $70 more, I could get 32GB. It's tempting, but I'm wondering if it will go to waste. Chances are I will not read any books on it, or transfer any movies to it since I carry my laptop everywhere. I will probably go on youtube, check email, etc. I might also get a couple of apps. I don;t usually travel anywhere, so I probably won't use the HD video recording at all, unless I have to record something funny/amazing/some concept the professor is explaining on the board. Although, almost everyone has told me to exchange it for a 32GB one. Did I get ripped off by purchasing the 8GB one? Should I exchange it and get the 32GB one? This 8GB one + the cover has cost me $255.98, the 32GB will cost me $318.89. Eek $320, I could just buy a netbook right.
