It will be locked to work on the T-Mobile Germany network and will be available in Germany only. German customers will still be able to roam in the US...

T-Mobile International announced today that it will be the exclusive carrier of the Apple iPhone in Germany. The 8GB model will be available on November 9 at the price of €399 ($553 US).

Details
The iPhone will be sold in Germany through Telekom Shops of Deutsche Telekom and the T-Mobile web shop. The device is SIM locked and will only accept T-Mobile Germany SIM cards. T-Mobile Germany iPhone customers who visit the United States will be able to roam on the T-Mobile USA network. The agreement between T-Mobile Germany and Apple does not mean T-Mobile USA will be carrying the iPhone as part of its handset lineup.Details regarding additional European partnerships will be announced as they become available.Hmmm.. I wonder what will be next??

Yeah the iphone reminds me of the razr. So much money was out into advertising it and everyone and their mom wanted one. I'm not saying its a bad thing for T-Mobile Germany I just think its over rated. I think the only real great feature on that phone is the real web browsing. But all the features are features most phones have. I know T-Mobile USA will probably get a lot of calls from customers wondering if we will get it. ~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~

Haha here in So Cal. my friend just picked up the iphone 8gb unlocked with a 2yr T-MO contract for $180 from an indirect store. He could have gotten the 4gb for $100.
