i want to keep this short, please answer:

firstly, am i right to think that if you get your iphone unlocked it will relock when you download the latest software, but not relock when you just plug it in to your computer?

Secondly, the iPhone 3g is too old for updates such as ios 5, therefore - if the phone can never update, the phone will remain unlocked?

Please answer and put in enough information so i know what to do!:) thank you!
