Apple Ibook Problems?

when i start it up it makes the starting sound and the screen lights up faintly but nothing shows on the screen. What do i do to fix this
it might be the loose ram because we pounded on the computer pretty hard once
the screen show up white
when i hold down control alt delte a circular arrow and a straight arrow appears
