Apple asks for credit card info?! help?

ok so I just got iPod touch for Christmas yesterday and in the app store you have to put in your credit card number to be able to get apps. well my mom refuses to give it to me I'm only interested in the FREE apps anyway and I explained it to her but she still won't give it to me and I need apps!!!! what am I to do!?!! HELPPP.
