App similar to Berry 411?

There isn't, and it's a damned shame. I LOVED that app on my blackberry.

However, I've managed to replace it using a combo of Google SMS and Opera... not as easy, but works fairly well.

For Google SMS, just type in the name of the business you are looking for into an SMS, and send it to "Google" (which is 46645). It'll return all the listings in the area.

So for example, if I sent Ayothaya Puyallup WA (my favorite Thai Restaraunt in the city I live in), it'll return the phone # and address. If I put "Best Buy Puyallup WA" it returns 3 different results, for Puyallup, Tacoma, and Tukwila.

You get the picture.

Isn't that Local Search app similar? The one that uses Yahoo? I've never really played with it - in fact I uninstalled it shortly after receiving my phone.

Are you guys in the US? If so, why bother?

(800) FREE 411

100% free 411 - you just have to put up with a 15-20 second ad. Considering the amount of time it would take to open an app, connect, type, and search; it's probably quicker...

Zeze -- I've used Free 411 before, but honestly find it way quicker to just type out an SMS... I have Google saved in my address book, so it's even quicker.

Plus I then have a copy of the phone # and address sitting in my inbox for later reference.
