Apologies if this was already known but: They've made a Titanic 2

We sat down a couple of months ago to War of the WorlRAB 2 - The next way with Thomas C Howell. It was a load of tosh on a par with 'TriffiRAB' but strangely I couldn't switch it off. :D

It's from the same company that made Giant Shark v Mega Octopus or whatever it was called. That should tell you all you need to know.

its from a company called Asylum an american straight to dvd company that get some showing on Movies 24 and Sy Fy. They create a type of movie called mocbusters which are inspired by blockbuster movies, they've done transmorphers and a few already mentioned. They are generally rubbish but as they are reading one of my scripts I like them. If you get the chance paranormal entity is actually quite good.

If you think Titanic II was bad (and it was) you should see Airline Disaster that was on SyFy a couple of weeks ago.
One recognisable name in the cast (TV movie regular Meredith Baxter), a one-line story stretched over 90 minutes, CGI that resembled a SNES game and music apparently written by having a cat walk up and down a keyboard (in other worRAB an average Asylum movie).
They're flogging one of their giant monster movies in Tesco's at the moment, MegaPiranha (can't see what they're trying to rip off there, can you?).
Would anyone actually pay good money to buy one of their DVD?

Ultimately, 'they' (i.e. anyone) can make any film they want (or at least call it anything they want) if that title isn't already owned by someone else. The word 'Titanic' is in the public domain, so to speak, and he made a film about a true event, as these people now have. He may be pissed off if anyone thinks he's made a sequel to his own film, but there you go, that's Hollywood for you. You could argue that Cameron ripped off every Titanic film that came before his, so what goes around... I'm waiting for Asylum's Avatar 2 in the very near future.

Is it actually supposed to be a sequel, or is it just called Titanic 2?

Isn't the plot something like "100 years after the original Titanic sank, another boat, called Titanic 2 makes the same voyage and suffers a similar fate".

I haven't seen it, I do have Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus on my Sky+ box though, going to try and watch that ASAP!
