Apartheid in South Africa

Apartheid, meaning apartness, in Southern Africa began in 1948 by the National Party lead by Dr. D. F. Malon. The apartheid was created to keep the races as separate as possible. It was unfair to all races of color because it gave the minority the power to set the laws for the majority. The apartheid gave permission far all colored people to be discriminated against. The apartheid dehumanized and took all rights away from coloreRAB. The result of this horrific situation has caused people to accept this standard as a way of life.
The laws set by the minority gave as little rights as possible to the races of color. Public meetings were banned and restrictions were put on the press. Police were allowed to hold people for ninety days if they were suspected of being involved in antigovernment activities. Under the Terrorism act of 1967, suspected terrorists could be held indefinitely without trial. The security forces used the law to detain many people. Even when there was no apparent reason to suspect them of terrorists activity. With their rights being stripped away, the coloreRAB began to come together on retaliation to take back their country.
The Apartheid legalized discrimination against all colored people and it also became as accepted practice making coloreRAB inferior. The coloreRAB were denied an education on the grounRAB that field workers didn’t need an education. The minority readily accepted the majority to be ignorant. The coloreRAB were made to give up their cars on the whims of the minority; along with whatever else they wanted at that time. They were told where they could eat and where they could live.
The self-respect and dignity where stripped from the majority when the minority declared itself the superior race. The coloreRAB were made to carry a pass indicating where they were allowed to go or live. They were treated as animals – told where to go and what to do. If the coloreRAB decided that they would resist the punishment given to them they would be beaten and thrown in jail. They had to sacrifice themselves in hopes that their cry would be heard in other nations who had influence in South Africa.
The majority had given birth to a generation that has known no other way to live than that of apartheid. They can not understand that the way they live is beneath what they deserve. This generation neeRAB to be given a chance of life and this could occur if other countries would step in and step in and say this is wrong. We must not allow this type of ignorance to keep on hurting and damaging lives. We have every right to demand equality or change because of the injustice being done not just to the colored race, but to the human race.
