In the early nineteenth century, Americans sought to resolve their political disputes through compromise, yet by 1860 this no longer seemed possible. Analyze the reasons for this change. I need help on abolitionist vs. pro slavery for this time period and I can't figure out an introduction for this topic. Please help? I know the rest of the research.
