Very helpful, thanks man. Gives me the confidence to buy online.

P@rick - I'll have a look at that shield but I only wear clear visors, others always make me a bit uncomfortable. I don't have great vision If I HAVE to wear sun shielding, I use clip-ons on my glasses, cool blue ones, though I might get some rose coloured ones to fit my personality

I've worn Simpson Bandits for many years, mainly for the heavy chinbar. It's really a race car helmet with a small eyeport. And it's got really decent cheek pads. Makes one feel really secure. I like the fact that I can use tear offs, especially in the springtime when the bugs are bad. Also, I can use a dark one in the daytime and pull it off for night time.

Years ago, I had a pretty good getoff and destroyed a Bell M2, and realized that a smaller eyeport would give better protection in case of a faceplant.

Noise doesn't really bother me, hell, I'm deaf anyway. Too many 2 stroke racers and weapons fire over the years.

I have the Simpson Bandit for my drag car. It's a great helmet, but side visibility sucks. I love the way it fits, but it would not be practical on a bike. The flat black Bandit is tits!

I have the newer Super Bandit, and I can't see the edge of the eyeport looking as far as I can either way. I use plain white helmets. Never liked graphics much. I'm gun-shy regarding helmets because I had a really bad incident years ago and pretty much destroyed a Bell M2 in the chin bar area. The Bandit has very good facial protection compared to most bike helmets.

If you have to wear glasses, I would recommend a Nolan. The full flip up face makes it easy to put glasses on and off (I'm basicly blind without my glasses) I recently bought a pair of them and they are the best helmets I've ever had.
