Hey guys, I wanna order a black helmet, Snell approved and new, and fits me. Never ordered clothes or things that stops my brain from becoming goo online before. Is it safe to order online with a helmet? And I can't find the simpson bandit anywhere...have they gone the way of the dodo?

Ive ordered online before ducky, I did mostly bc they have some great prices, but I have found out the hard way that a medium for one company is not always a medium for another company. If you are unfamiliar with a brand I would suggest going to a dealer trying out the item you would like to order before doing so. This way you can see if you like the helmet or not.

Yah cool that makes sense. Thanks Dale.

Is there a reference chart somewhere...like Arai size x is Simpson size y? I'm pretty sure I've seen that somewhere if anyone has a link...if not I'll search.

The problem in this case, is I can't find a Bandit...but I'm not totally caught up on it, any good black helmet will do.

As this article points out, there is more than just size to a good fit. Shapes vary and this is important for comfort and a good fit. I've bought my last two helmets online with no problems. The manufacturer typically gives you a chart suggesting S, M, L, XL and so forth in their product line, based on the measurement around your head and the specific helmet model you want. In other words, just because you may have a 56 cm measurement, some of their models may be a S and some others may be a M.
Hope this helps some. Obviously, if you can try the helmet on first this is best, but when this is not possible, you can usually return for a different size when purchased online.

Dis what you looking for??

I've ordered lots of gear before and had no trouble. Helmets, boots, gloves etc etc etc. Wife has done the same.

If it's the look of the Simpson Bandit you like you should check out Craft helmets for their Cobra RX1. I've owned a Bandit and a Cobra and the Cobra blows it out of the water for fit, finish, looks and quiet.

I bought the Bandit cause back then it was the coolest kid on the block but it really sucked for noise and visibility. I dumped it and went with regular hemets till I was parusing through a copy of Streetfighter out of the UK and was ogling their ROOF brand helmets and lo and behold, a new helmet by Craft lept out at me.

Found a distributor out of Fla that shipped me out one. I measured my head as was sudgested in Craft's fitment guide and it was bang on for size. It's opening is a little larger then the Bandit so it's viewing area is a bit better but maaaaaan was it quieter. It's one of the quietest helmets I've owned. The Simpsons may have improved that fact since I last owned one.

Actually now that I've looked at your link I prefer the Craft. I REALLY like my Arai a lot, but it's the red/white/green Ducati one so I need to do something monochromatic for the graphic I want to add (will keep the Arai), and I think something with some crazy style would work better for that. My Saturday down the strip/coffee shop helmet
