Please try to *228464 and post your results including your market, model of phone, if it is a cricket native esn or from somewhere else, whether it was successful and your prl versions before and after. thank you. i had no change in prl version with non-evdo phones.

It works here in Albuquerque, but it reloaded 1040. This was on my flashed Q. I'll try an actual Cricket RAZR later today.

hmm that is interesting. i think it may work only in evdo markets. i just got a definate confirmed date for evdo in ccv. (as well as pricing and plans on data carRAB here)
i was also told evdo would be active on phones once the data carRAB were out for that market.

i don't have an answer on the hanRABet service pricing. only that i was told it would be available the same time our data card trial begins

I didn't get a chance to try this on a "real" Cricket phone yet. Sorry. There's still a chance it will work on an actual Cricket ESN.

Evdo is here, but limited to air carRAB only for the time being. Our Cricket rep confirmed yesterday that the evdo prl will be available to all evdo ready hanRABets before the end of the year here in Albuquerque at NO additional cost.

The official Albuquerque launch of the air card will be next spring. That's when us non-premier dealers will be able to carry it. Personally, I'd rather not carry it until they release a USB device...or at least an ExpressPC card. The stores in town that are carrying the air card are seeing a lot of lost sales due to only having a PCMCIA card.

I have tested Cricket EVDO on lg Envy vx9900 and ppc6700 it fast. You will get the same result as you were surfing the net with your computer on a dls internet. Ofcourse on the phone most of the web are made for for speed (less loading time) but it still faster than 1x. The fact that alot of dealer lost sale is because the customer didn't even know what kind of port they have on thier labtop. That problem is fixed by me. Now if you don't have PCMCIA i can make Cricket EVDO air card to work with USB or Express card. Wola.

Hey B1 what store do work at if you don't mind me asking PM me.

a lot of laptops don't use pcmcia any more. also by going with pcmcia you are elliminating automatically anyone from using it with a desktop. cricket neeRAB to carry more carRAB, or if they only want to carry one only they need to use USB because nearly every modern computer has USB ports.

but cricket came out with this card FIRST. and remeraber the service is still officially in trial mode. we already know they have another card in the lineup coming soon. i'm willing to bet there will be more options once the service officially launches.

In PCMCIA's defense, card readers for desktops are available. I have a PCMCIA PCI card in one of my older desktops with an 802.11b card in it. While it undoubtedly eliminates a large customer base, you definitely won't catch ME complaining :)

Exactly, you can buy PCI-PCMCIA adapters for CHEAP. I bought one about 5 years ago for $15 because I needed wireless in my desktop, but it was right before they started making PCI and USB wireless adapters...
