In U.S. Southwest, pining for inexpensive winter retreat. Know for a fact that hammocking is popular along the Caribbean coast. With the hurrican season ending December 1st, I would expect a six-month stretch of balmy, storm-free weather. Uppermost in my mind is safety while sleeping, theft, etc., etc. Prefer not to take a car. Have considered joining Anthropological digs, but these are usually in the interior, uder great heat, with all the trials and dangers of dealing with mosquitos. All in all, the coast is what I need. Anyone with any real experience of this sort? Your counsel would be appreciated.
