Anyone who's been a sleepaway camp counselor- help?

I'm debating if I should apply to be a summer camp counselor at a sleepaway camp in the Adirondack Mountains this summer. I'm a very home-y sort of person, and haven't done anything really "outside the box" but I want to.

I'm a 20-year-old college student going into elementary education and I adore children. I'm looking for the summer experience of a lifetime and think this might be it.

What was your eperience at sleepaway camp?
